Our Curriculum Statement and overview summarise the ingredients of our curriculum. It is divided into 4 sections: Joint curriculum statement with the infant school, Curriculum essentials describes to kind of curriculum we are aspiring to create for all of our learners. The Rucksack contains the skills, characteristics and attitudes that we are aiming to develop in all children by the time they leave primary school. The Passport lists the experiences that we hope to give to our pupils during their time at Orchard Lea. For more information about the curriculum please contact Mrs Thornbury.
As part of our curriculum, we have P4C enquiries in our classrooms. P4C stands for Philosophy for Children and is a tried and tested strategy, which enables children to think more deeply and communicate their thoughts and opinions in a constructive manner. We will be sharing more of our learning in P4C with parents in topic events, through homework tasks and via social media.
Further curriculum information can be found on the year group pages or subject pages.
